The Diplomatic Security Service has seen a series of senior resignations in recent days, with multiple members of its leadership stepping down from their posts effective immediately.
Floodtides announced their resignation as Chief of Staff for the Diplomatic Security Service, citing "unforeseen circumstances" as the reason they could no longer continue in the role. In a letter addressed to staff, Floodtides said they appreciated the opportunities provided during their tenure and would assist with any immediate transition needs remotely, if possible.
"I appreciate the opportunities I've had during my time here and am grateful for the experience gained," Floodtides wrote. "Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am unable to continue in my role."
The resignation comes alongside the departure of societywith, who formally resigned as Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Security Service. In a resignation letter dated 9 June 2026, societywith stated that the decision was not due to dissatisfaction with the agency, but because of personal factors requiring attention over the summer.
"Looking ahead to this Summer, I don't see myself being able to execute the position of Deputy Director properly or to the extent another person would be able to," societywith wrote in the attached letter.
A third senior departure also occurred earlier this month, with Cody_Murphy03 resigning as Deputy Director effective 6 June 2026. In their statement, Cody_Murphy03 said they believed their work helping restore the agency had been completed and expressed confidence in the future of the DSS.
"Over the last month, I was able to assist with getting DSS back towards its glory days when it was under the leadership of now Senator domesti_c," Cody_Murphy03 wrote. "I am happy with the work that I have put into the Agency and know that they will continue to thrive from here out."
Cody_Murphy03 also thanked DSS agents and encouraged them to continue supporting the agency's leadership.
The resignations mark a notable period of transition for the Diplomatic Security Service, with several senior leadership positions now affected in a short span of time. No immediate announcements have been made regarding permanent replacements or changes to the agency's command structure.
