Wilbeforc has been appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs, saying he is honoured to have been chosen by Taoiseach Ognian0 and to have been entrusted with the portfolio.
In a statement issued on 21 April, the new minister paid tribute to his predecessor, Jimmy_Jimmies, for leading diplomatic efforts over the past term.
"I am honoured to have been chosen by the Taoiseach, Ognian0, to take up the position of Minister for Foreign Affairs, and the trust he has placed in me to carry out the duties the role requires.
I would like to first pay tribute to my predecessor, Jimmy_Jimmies, who has led this government's diplomatic efforts for the past term with dedication and determination.
I look forward to meeting with my counterparts across the globe to promote international cooperation. To improve and expand our international relations.
I will continue to carry out this Government's Programme for Government to the best of my ability. And putting the people of Ireland first.
It is an honour to serve, and I look forward to the task ahead."
The appointment comes days after the Department of Foreign Affairs vacancy emerged, and marks the start of a new ministerial term as government continues its wider diplomatic programme.
